Sport has always celebrated toughness, sacrifice, and winning, but behind closed doors there exists a culture that quietly encourages something far more dangerous. 

Drinking is normalized. Partying is expected.  Peer Pressure follows athletes into the dressing room, the bus, and the hotel.

From junior dressing rooms to professional locker rooms, the expectation to drink, to fit in, and to prove you belong is often stronger than any coach's voice. 

For young athletes trying to find their place, saying no can feel like the hardest thing in the world — because in that environment, saying no can feel like saying you're not one of the team.

That culture doesn't just exist at the professional level. It starts young. And for some athletes, it never stops.

People need to change their view on what it means to be an addict or alcoholic.

BOTTOM LINE - In my presentation, I try to encourage people to look at themselves in a different light and to ask different questions and hopefully I can help people break through and finally see how their addictions or behaviors do effect their lives in a negative way even though they are not the "stereotypical" alcoholic or addict who drinks or uses every day.

COVID-19 changed our relationship with technology forever. What started as a way to cope with isolation became, for millions of people, a genuine addiction. 


Today, screen time overuse and gaming addiction are affecting people everywhere — and most of them don't even realize it's happening.
 

The science is clear. Our brains respond to screens the same way they respond to drugs, alcohol, and gambling — releasing dopamine, creating euphoria, and making us crave more. It relaxes us, pulls us away from the real world, and before long, we can't stop reaching for our phones even when we know we should.
 
The consequences are serious. Disrupted sleep, lack of focus, decreased performance, and declining mental health are just the beginning. When you are on your screen, there is always something more important that isn't getting done.
 
BOTTOM LINE - This presentation gives athletes a real and honest look at their relationship with technology — the warning signs of overuse, the impact on performance, and the practical tools to reset, refocus, and take back control.

We live in a completely different world than we did even fifteen years ago. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube — social media isn't going anywhere, and for today's athletes and students, how you show up online matters just as much as how you perform on the ice or in the classroom.
 

Used the right way, social media is one of the most powerful tools an athlete has. It builds your brand, connects you with fans, and shows the world a side of you that competition alone never could.
But one wrong post can change everything. 
Teams, universities, corporations, and scholarship committees are actively searching social media accounts before they draft, sign, hire, or award a single dollar. They are not looking for reasons to say yes — they are looking for reasons to say no.
 
BOTTOM LINE - This presentation gives athletes and students a clear and practical roadmap for using social media safely, smartly, and with purpose. From do's and don'ts to a pre-post checklist, every person who walks out of this room will think differently about what they share, how they share it, and why their digital reputation is one of the most valuable things they own.
